Narrated Ibnul Mubaarak , who said , ‘Mus’ar narrated to us’  , from Abdul A’laa al-Taymee who said :

“The one who is given knowledge which does not cause him to cry; then I fear that he has not been given beneficial knowledge.

This is because Allaah The Exalted has described the knowledgeable ones,  He said:

“Verily! Those who were given knowledge before it , when it is recited to them, fall down on their faces in humble prostration.

And they say: “Glory be to our Lord! Truly, the Promise of our Lord must be fulfilled.”

And they fall down on their faces weeping and it adds to their humility.”
