“How will you be when trials and tribulations have overtaken you? The elderly will become senile and the youth will increase. The people will take the trials and tribulations as a Sunnah. Whenever anything from it is changed it will be said : ‘The Sunnah has been [changed] abandoned! ’

The people asked him: “O, Abu Abdurrahmaan ; When will that be?”

He said: “When your Reciters of the Quraan increase. When your Fuqahaa are few, and your rulers increase, and the trustworthy are few. And the life of this world will solicit the actions of the hereafter, and [solicit seeking knowledge and]understanding for other than [serving and sincerity of]the religion.”
